About
Cause Celebre
The
experience I have gained during my work at the Labour Party has been
paramount in what I can now offer as Director of Cause Celebre Limited.
The first event I organised for the Labour Party was the North East
Gala Dinner at the Civic Centre, Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Hosted by the
Rt Hon Dr Marjorie Mowlam MP and with a key note speech by the Rt
Hon Peter Mandelson MP the dinner attracted 300 people and has gone
on to become an annual event.
Following this I organised a gala dinner at the Conrad International
Hotel in Brussels to raise money for the European Elections in 1999.
Hosted by Alan Donnelly, then the Leader of the European
Parliamentary Labour Party and attended by the Chancellor of the
Exchequor, the Rt Hon Gordon Brown MP, the dinner brought together
a varied cross section of the British community working in Brussels
and was the largest dinner of its kind.
Shortly after, and my biggest event yet, was the Scottish
Labour Party Gala Dinner. Attended by 600 people the dinner was
hosted by the late Rt Hon Donald Dewar MP MSP and the key note speaker
was the Prime Minister the Rt Hon Tony Blair MP. Bringing the business
community and Labour
Party members together for a fun night in true Scottish Style.
The event was covered by the BBC's 9 o'clock news.
Following my time at the Labour Party I moved on to Britain
in Europe as Senior Fundraiser. Here I devised and launched a
fundraising club named the Indigo
Club.
The launch of the Indigo
Club took place at the Imagination Gallery in London and was a
2 hour reception, hosted by the three patrons of the club, the Rt
Hon Kenneth Clarke MP, Baroness Nicholson MEP amd Lord Simon. Attended
by various celebrities, including Michelle Collins, the event was
covered by O.K Magazine.
I have recently worked on a charity event at 11 Downing Street securing
Dawn French to read the story to the kids from the charity The
